We are delighted to welcome you to our beautiful studio for a yoga, pilates, or fitness class.

Here are a few tips to ensure that your experience is a pleasure both for you and those around you.

  • Please bring a yoga mat and water bottle.  Alternatively, yoga mats can be rented or purchased at the studio.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for classes.  Students arriving late for classes will need to wait in the foyer until meditation is over, to avoid disrupting other students.  Reception doors sometimes lock 10 minutes after classes begin.

  • Drop-in students: always sign in and present your pass to the receptionist before entering a class.

  • Students new to Prana: please fill out a waiver form at the reception desk.

  • Please keep your valuables at home and leave all coats, bags, and personal belongings in the closets in the reception area to keep the studios tidy and spacious.  Front doors will be locked when a receptionist is not on site.

  • Please turn off all cell phones and pagers upon entering the reception area.

  • Please keep voices low while in the studio, reception area and change room/washroom. Students in the other studio may be in savasana or meditation.

  • Come well hydrated and with a light stomach (avoid eating heavy foods for 2-3 hours before your practice).

  • Wear bare feet and lightweight clothing that is easy to move in.

  • Yoga is non-competitive. Please go at your own pace. Be gentle and respectful towards your body, never moving to the point of pain, and rest as needed.

  • Let your instructor know if you are pregnant, or if you have any injuries or medical conditions they should be aware of.

  • Please refrain from wearing scented products (perfumes, hairspray, after shave, etc.) as some students are extremely sensitive or allergic.

  • If you know you will need to leave class early, please place your mat near the door, and exit before savasana (laying relaxation) begins.

  • We have a wide variety of props available for your use and comfort during classes. Please ensure that these props are neatly returned to the props closet in preparation for other students.

  • We recommend that all Prana students receive our e-mail newsletter, to stay current on holiday closures, schedule changes, registration periods, pass discounts, and special events. You can sign up for our newsletter on the home page of our website. E-mails may also be added from the waiver form.

  • Up to two make-up classes can be taken within a pre-registered session at any drop-in class (check for appropriate level).  Please fill out a make-up slip at the front desk. Make up classes cannot be carried over into the next session.

  • Please avoid parking directly in front of the first floor businesses during business hours.  There is ample parking in the central area.

  • Practicing yoga a few times weekly is recommended for continuity and growth, however, once or twice per week is also extremely beneficial.  Remember to try various styles and teachers to find your niche.

  • Most importantly, relax and enjoy!  Yoga is a powerful, delightful, and transformational practice.  Each class will leave you feeling refreshed and energized, and cumulatively, the process will enrich every aspect of your life, providing you with balance and inspiration for body, mind and spirit.
