The understanding of somatic practices is becoming more widely known and used in a variety of experiences. In this 2 hour workshop you’ll have an opportunity to bridge the practice of yin with somatic work, all through a trauma informed lens.
A combination of some theory as well as a yin practice dedicated to the soma will be explored through this workshop. Soma means body, and ultimately, all movement practices are somatic in nature.
In this practice you’ll:
☀️ Have an opportunity to practice choice
☀️ Be able to experience what a trauma informed lens can bring to a practice
☀️ Explore mind body connection
☀️ Learn how interoception plays a role in our lives
We will start with a brief talk on interoception, choice, collective experiences and somatic work, followed by a lengthy yin practice, ending with a discussion to bring it all together.
Please bring a journal and pen to practice.
This workshop is suitable for most practitioners. No previous yin nor somatic work is required to partake.
