Are you hearing the call of the the ancient stones… of the sea, sun, and sand?
Does your heart lift at the thought of playing, feasting, resting and exploring, nurtured by daily yoga practices, surrounded by people who love the same?
Join us May 28-June 5, 2025 for a 9 day (8 night) retreat in the enchanting island of Crete, Greece where we’ll explore the birthplace of Western civilization and dive into a multi-dimensional adventure. From serene philosophical moments to exhilarating revelry, this retreat offers a profound celebration of life.
Location: Our adventure unfolds on the northwest coast of Crete, in the picturesque region of Chania. We’ll stay in a newly-built seaside villa with breathtaking ocean views and multiple pools, nestled in the peaceful village of Nopigia. Enjoy the charm of local tavernas offering fresh, traditional cuisine, seafood, and exceptional coffee—all within walking distance.
After our stay in Nopigia, we’ll journey east to the historic seaport town of Chania, known for its ancient Minoan roots and layers of Roman, Venetian, Ottoman, and Arab influences. Enjoy two nights in a charming harborside hotel, with guided walking tours, shopping, and opportunities to dine, relax in delightful cafes, and dance the night away.
Flexible Itinerary: Participate in as many or as few excursions as you like. Your retreat is designed for balance, with ample free time for journaling, personal exploration, or relaxation by the sea.
Our time will be a perfect blend of rest and adventure, with strolls to a nearby village for a winery tour and tasting, secret coves for swimming, a stone amphitheater for meditation and yoga, and optional hiking in the hills that lay along the coast. Every other day we’ll explore a different part of the region, with trips to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, a day-long boat tour of otherwise inaccessible but jaw-droppingly pristine pirate coves, and a hike down the longest walkable gorge in Europe ending with a dip in the Libyan sea and a feast of Cretan mountain cuisine. All balanced with spacious free time to journal, explore on your own, and rest in the quiet beauty of your villa or on a sun lounger, lulled by the sound of the waves.
Join us to immerse yourself in the sheer beauty and vibrancy of Greece, rejuvenate your senses, and connect deeply with yourself and others in this extraordinary land.

Leala, Isabelle & Sheena have been running local and international yoga retreats, yoga teacher training programs, women’s circles and workshops for over 10 years.
Isabelle is an Akhanda (holistic) Yoga Teacher. After living on both coasts of the US and NSW coast of Australia, she is grateful to call Alberta home. Isabelle has engaged in spiritual exploration, practice, and study across various traditions for almost 4 decades. Through classes and trainings she offers depth, warmth, insight and humour, balanced with precise attention to physical placement and understanding. She holds a BS in Languages and Linguistics summa cum laude from Georgetown University, and her love of sound, words, and their power to transmit meaning is evident in her teaching and singing. She is additionally trained in Classical Kundalini Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, the Work of Byron Katie (inquiry-based stress reduction – a form of Jnana Yoga), Hormone Yoga Therapy, Vedic Chanting, and the fascinating and illuminating theory and practice of Katonah Yoga®.
The whole world of yoga was an unexpected surprise in my life. I stumbled upon it, as many do, seemingly by accident and it called to me. Something mysterious woke up in me as I began to practice. I could feel my heart. I could feel parts of my body that I had never felt before. Eventually the Yogic teachings lead me to see universal truths that exist beyond the confines of any practice or structure including the yogic traditions. We are all able to find great ease or stillness in an instant. We are able to listen to higher minds and make different choices. We able able to enjoy, nourish and love being in our bodies as we explore their limits in movement and stillness.
With a dance of meeting structured tradition and the ever unfolding unknown, my practice and classes are living. I believe we are holding many great polarities in balance and my classes reflect such expressions. Effort and Ease. Action & Stillness. Depth & Playfulness. Known & Unknown.
I began practicing Yoga in 2004 with Ashtanga Yoga. In 2012, I fell in Love with Prana Yoga Studio and began formal training there. I have studied with several other schools and traditions and am formally educated in Akhanda Yoga, Gayatri Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Katonah Yoga, Bihar Yoga and others.
In 2015, I again, unexpectedly fell in love with Yoga Nidra. I began teaching and learning as much as I could and spent hundreds of hours studying under my Teacher Tanis Fishman.
I have run several 200hr Yoga Teacher Trainings under my School Anahata Rising as well as 50hr Yoga Nidra Training which I continue to run annually.
Leala’s yoga journey began over 30 years ago in NYC. Her first yoga class sparked a sense that there was much more to life than what the world had presented to her. Within a year, she had moved to the remote side of Maui where she met David Williams and began a three month intensive study of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She went on to develop an steady home practice. In 2000, Leala attended an Ashtanga Yoga teachers training course with renowned instructor David Swenson and in 2003 completed her 200 hour training through Trinity Yoga. After moving to Alberta, Leala began seeking a more holistic approach to yoga, one that would synergize her love of meditation, mindfulness, breath and embodied movement. She had a dream where she met and merged with an Indian sage who fused yoga and meditation into heart centered awakening. A few weeks later she met Yogi Vishvketu and began her journey into Akhanda® Yoga. In 2006 Leala founded Prana Yoga Studio in Edmonton. Along with owning a busy urban yoga studio, Leala has raised a family, guided international yoga retreats, and taught numerous YTT programs in both Canada and India. Leala’s passions include practicing yoga outdoors, hiking, swimming and quality time with her family.
